Golf has for a long time been a sport that seems to be dominated by men, so it would be no surprise to most that Pattaya is a golfer’s dream. Why wouldn’t it, with the large amount of single men, mostly corporate types going to meet nice Thai Bar Girls, of course they would like to spend each day roaming the gold course seeking that hole in one! If you love Golf, are keen to see Pattaya but are a little worried then this is the service for you! Company have popped up in Pattaya that will tailor make your Holiday, from the flight you need to take to get there, accommodation at the golf club and help from the staff on how to act when out with the locals! Pattaya Golf is one company which offers this service. Pattaya Golf will either tailor make plans to suit a travelers wants and needs while they also have ready made plans if you are unsure about what it is you are exactly looking for. The service is relatively cheap when you look at the price for most domestic holidays in a western country.

If you are sure about Thailand and comfortable to visit with out this service, there are many clubs with will take a tourist membership allowing you to play daily, there are also some resorts and hotels will offer on site courses. More on this below.

Golf Clubs

If you are coming to Pattaya for an extended stay, and love to play your gold then a club may be in order! Pattaya has a number of great Golf Clubs dedicated for Western’s, Thais and some that mix both! Golf is a very popular sport in Thailand and these clubs will often hold competitions with entry fee’s that will towards been a prize for the winner at the end. While some clubs will offer membership for free, most of the clubs for westerns will expect an annual payment to help pay for club meetings and so forth. While Thai people will be happy to go to someone house for such events, the western person will usually have this at a bar or a hotel club.

Golf Cubs are legal in Thailand and the competitions are not considered gambling. If you try to do this out side of a golf cub competition you will be rising a major fine so this should be avoided!

Golf Courses

Pattaya boasts over 15 fantastic golf courses, many of which have been used in Championship games! Here Best Hotel Pattaya will give you an insight to some of the best and most mentionable golf courses in Pattaya. All of these course’s will allow day passe’s if you are after a single round with friends, or many will issue a tourist membership which will generally last a week or 2 and be a considerable saving over a day visit. A bonus to playing Golf in Thailand would be thank drinking is very welcomed on the green and Thai Waiters will be happy and willing to bring you beers as you play. Remember it is very hot in this part of the world, so it would be nice to tip the guys as they run through the heat to ensure you get a cold drink!

Burapha Golf Course

Bangphra International

Bangphra has for a long time been one of the most popular courses in Pattaya, owned and operated by Japan Golf it offers a great 18 holes with some excellent wind shots and some hard one’s over the river! This course would be a lot of dun for a average to intermediate player, I do not believe a first timer would appreciate this course. Bangphra International also has 2 restaurants on site, offer very cheap bugger rental and have month long member ships for those holidays that go a little longer then usual!

Burapha Golf Club

One of the largest Golf Courses in Pattaya, and easily one of the most popular for tourists! The Burapha Golf Club has a all day 36 holes which go over 22 acre’s and require a buggy even for a quarter game! The club has day passe’s, week membership, quarterly and yearly! The club will often hold different events for members such as balls and Golf Competitions. The club has been used by the National Golf league on many occasions to play live events on TV for countries such as America, Australia, UK, Brazil, NZ and so forth!

The club has amazing staff, many of which can speak near perfect English! The ground are kept lush and beautiful, you can tell that real pride is taken in this golf course and it is easy to understand why it has one of the largest membership fee’s in Phuket (2800 baht a year). Burapha Golf Club is a must see if you are thinking about a round of golf, they have ever thing that is need on site so you only need to show up!

Natural Park Resort Golf Club

Another one of Pattaya’s larger golf courses with 27 holes! Owned and Operated by the  Natural Park Resort, this is a popular course for people to play on thus the hotel is a popular choice for keen golfers! The Hotel is one of the most exclusive in Pattaya and they do not allow Bar Girls to return to the hotel – this is a big downer for many visitors to Thailand, but this is to ensure they only get serious golfers. Anyone is welcome to play on the course, with tourists able to come during the day to get a day pass and play to their hearts content, the strange thing is the girls they would like to keep out of the rooms are free to come at this point as well and roam the hotel during the day.

Eastern Star Gold Lodge

The Eastern Resort is one of Pattayas only full-service hotel & resort that was designed to create a complete and unmatchable feel for “Living, Learning, and Leisure” environment would be expected in a 5 resort that is known for amazing service and wonderful facilities. Average Price For Greens fees:

• Baht 400 – 1,000 weekday;
• Baht 600 – 1,700 weekend. For The Caddy fees:
• Baht 150 – 500. For A Power cart:
• Baht 500 – 600.

Club rental:

• Baht 400 – 600.

Shoes & Umbrella:

• Baht 100 each.

Important Note’s

• Due to weight restrictions with luggage on planes, it is never practical to bring your own clubs. All the major clubs, resorts and many stores will have clubs of all quality for rent! Be prepared with a  copy of your passport to leave.
• Some clubs allow 2 for one if you ask, it can a good money saver in a already cheap country! Try it!
• Golf became popular over the past 20 years, do not expect to meet many “Old Trainers”
